The wine is pale golden in colour. On the nose there’s white peach, slate/mineral and hazelnut praline with a decent but not overpowering amount of oak. It is powerful on the palate with a tangy grapefruit acidity that leads to a nice mineral finish and a vanillin oak background that adds complexity.
The Black Estate 2011 Chardonnay would do well with a few years of cellaring.
